President Trump Speaks with Artemis II Astronauts in Space

He congratulated the crew on making history.

President Donald Trump spoke with the crew of the Artemis II via satellite earlier this week, as they made the first circuit around the moon in 50 years. The crew is set to splash down on Thursday.

President Trump told them, “You’ve made history and made all of America really proud… There’s nothing like what you’re doing, circling around the Moon for the first time in more than half a century and breaking the all-time record for the farthest distance from planet Earth… You really are modern-day pioneers.”

He added, “I look forward to having you in the Oval Office at the White House and we will celebrate your incredible achievements and triumphs.“

The three NASA astronauts and one CSA (Canadian Space Agency) astronaut have been aboard the Orion spacecraft, named Integrity, since the April 1 launch. This crew made the first trip around the moon since the last lunar mission, Apollo 17, in December 1972.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the safe return of the Artemis II crew from their lunar fly-by mission.
  • For President Trump and members of his Cabinet as they seek to ensure the U.S. is on the leading edge of technology.
  • For wisdom for Administrator Jared Isaacman as he oversees NASA and U.S. space exploration and research.
